PokerTek Tabs Roberson PDF Print E-mail

Mark Roberson has moved up.

Formerly the chief financial officer for PokerTek, Roberson has been appointed acting CEO of the manufacturer of electronic poker tables. He replaces Chris Halligan, who reportedly resigned for personal reasons unrelated to the company.

Roberson has been with PokerTek since October 2007.

“Mark has proven himself as a capable leader, and we feel he is the right person to lead PokerTek at this time,” Lyle Berman, the chairman of PokerTek, said. “The top priority for the management team under Mark’s leadership will be to accelerate PokerTek’s progress towards cash flow positive operating results.”

PokerTek lost $1.8 million in the first quarter of this year.

“I am enthusiastic about PokerTek’s future,” Roberson said. “We have significant growth opportunities in both our PokerPro casino business and the Heads-Up Challenge amusement business. Our primary short-term focus will be to accelerate the company’s progress towards the achievement of positive EBITDAS. We will also continue to invest wisely in product development and grow our already strong base of recurring revenues.”

Halligan left PokerTek on May 29th.
